THE CONDUCT OF A SUDDEN

SOME VOCABULARY

Before discussing the basic principles regarding betting rounds, we will familiarize ourselves with a few words:

1

Blind = Last forced opening. The blinds are part of the current betting round. SB – Small Blind = Small Blind: First player to the left of the dealer. It is subjected to a forced opening bet equal to half the forced bet BB. BB – Big Blind = Big Blind: Second player to the left of the dealer. It is subjected to a forced opening set equal to twice the SB. UTG – Under The Gun = Player placed immediately to the left of BB. Button = Button. Special token to mark a fictitious donor. Bet = A recovery, make a bet (if the player is the first to launch a bid in a round). Check = Follow a pot without re-bid. Fold = Sunset his cards, leaving the blow. Checker = Word = Do not bet and stay still in the game. Only possible if there was no update. Call = Follow the current bid. Raise = Reviving the current bid. Reraise = Make surelance. Pot = Total Bid bet. Board = Table. Means all the community cards. Flop = Designates the first three board cards. They returned together. Turn = Turn. Denotes the fourth board card, returned alone. River = River. The fifth and final card table means, returned alone.

Online game play is very intuitive. Just a few hands to become thoroughly familiar with the game

THE AUCTION, THE GAME

Whatever poker variants, they are all based on betting rounds. We speak here of the auction variants Hold’em and Omaha, only variations permitted by the ARJEL . Four betting rounds are possible in these variants. Between each round of betting, one or more cards are dealt. Auctions accumulate and form a pot .

• The cards are given in the direction of clockwise, ditto for speech.

• The SB (1) and BB (2) pay an opening bet “forced” (The auction SB is half that of the BB).

• Two hole cards are dealt to each player, starting with the SB (Small Blind)

Preflop – THE FIRST ROUND OF AUCTIONS

3

• The player UTG (3) is the first to speak. He can choose to:

  • Folder, that is to say, leave the money as he considers that his chances of winning based on its 2 cards received low
  • Make a “call” , that is to say follow up the BB as he believes that his chances of winning based on its 2 cards received are correct. This is called limp.
  • Raiser, that is to say, raise the bet BB as he believes that his chances of winning based on its 2 cards received are high.

4 • The player may, in addition to the actions listed above, make a reraise

• The following players also have the possibility of one of these 4 actions (fold, call, raise or reraise).

• The first betting round ends once the players have bet the same level.

• The first 3 community cards on the board, called the flop, are returned.

THE FLOP – THE SECOND ROUND OF AUCTIONS

4

  • Each player still in contention can:
  • Checker, that is to say that the player does not bid in an unopened pot,
  • Make a bet, that is to say, be the first player to make a bet

• Once a bet has occurred, the other players have the opportunity to:

  • Folder Caller Reraiser (re-raise after raise)

• Once the auction is at the same level, the second round of betting stops.

• The fourth board card called “turn” is returned.

THE TURN – THE THIRD TOUR OF AUCTION

5

• Each player still in contention can:

  • Checker, that is to say that the player does not bid in an unopened pot,
  • Make a bet, that is to say be premer player to make a bet

• Once a bet has occurred, the other players have the opportunity to:

  • Folder
  • Make a call
  • Reraiser (re-raise after raise)

• Once the auction is at the same level, the third round of betting stops.

• The fifth board card called “river” is returned.

THE RIVER – THE FOURTH ROUND OF AUCTIONS

6

• Each player still in contention can:

  • Checker, the player does not bid in an unopened pot,
  • Make a bet, that is to say, be the first player to make a bet

• Once a bet has occurred, the other players have the opportunity to:

  • Folder
  • Make a call
  • Reraiser (re-raise after raise)

• Once the auction is completed and it remains at least 2 players competing, private cards are returned and compared. This is the best hand of five cards (one of the seven which include five community cards from the board and 2 private cards) wins the pot .

PS – GAME MONEY FICTITIOUS

You can also play with play money (play money) to get used to the software. Beware the game play money has nothing to do with the “real” poker. Play play money to train before making the leap is a very bad idea: it gives very bad habits.
